Mixed Up Rhythms is a rhythm practice tool for working musicians and serious students. Enter a melodic passage from a piece you are working on, and the app generates that passage written in every rhythm pattern for a given note grouping โ a complete systematic workout in all rhythms.
Step 1 โ Choose a note grouping
Choose a note grouping by tapping one of the six buttons above.
Step 2 โ Set clef, key, and instrument
Choose the clef your instrument reads in and the key of your passage. The instrument setting transposes the audio preview to concert pitch โ so if you play Bโญ clarinet, what you hear matches what you sound.
Step 3 โ Name and enter your passage
Type a document name, then tap notes on the keyboard. Tap a chip's spelling button to cycle enharmonics. Use ► Play Passage to hear your entry back.
Step 4 โ Generate
Tap Generate Exercises to produce the full set of rhythm patterns.
Step 5 โ Save & explore
Tap โฒ Save Exercise to save your exercise to your personal library. You'll be asked for your name, email, and instrument once โ the app remembers you after that. Use โฐ Library to browse your saved exercises or search the community library by instrument or composer.
Tips
โ Your passage plays once through each pattern, stopping when all notes are used. โ Any passage length works โ a few notes or an entire phrase. โ Tap ↻ Start Over to reset and begin a new passage.
